I have seen lot of people struggling to transfer their contacts from iPhone to an Android Phone and vice versa. In this post, I am going to help those individuals who are looking out for the resolution to transfer their Contacts from an iPhone to an Android phone.
In order to transfer the Contacts from an iPhone to an Android phone you need to have the following things:
- Computer with Internet connection.
- Gmail Email ID.
- Apple Email ID (in which your Contacts are synced).
- Safari web browser.
Below is the Step-by-step procedure on how to transfer your Contacts from an iPhone to an Android phone:
Step 1: Export the Contacts in .vcf file on your Desktop:
- Login to iCloud with your Apple ID (To know the Apple ID, go to Settings and tap on iCloud, you should be able to find the Apple ID here).
- Click on Contacts.
- Now select all the Contacts by press CTRL+A on your keyboard.
- Now, click on the Gear Icon from the bottom left pane and click on Export VCard.
- Note: If you aren’t Using Safari, you’ll not receive the prompt to save the VCard.
- Now, save the VCard (.vcf) file on your Desktop and logout from the iCloud.
Step 2: Import the Contacts to your Gmail ID:
- Open any web browser.
- Login to Gmail with your Gmail ID.
- Now click on Gmail and then select Contacts as shown in the below picture:
- As soon as you Click on Contacts, it’ll take you to Contacts. Now, click on Import from left pane as shown in the below picture:
- As the above Window shown is a Preview Version which doesn’t support Export or Import, you’ll get another prompt which says “Import from Old Google Contacts” as shown in the below picture. Click on Go to Old Contacts and it’ll redirect you to Old version of Gmail Contacts.
- Now, click on More and then click on Import, as shown in the below picture:
- As soon as you click on Import, you’ll get a Dialog box (Shown in below picture) in which you need to click on browse and then select the VCard file from the location where you have saved it on your Computer when you exported from iCloud.
- In my case, I stored it on the desktop and selected it from there. Once, you have selected the file clicked on Import then you’ll find all your contacts here.
- Yeppy!! You have successfully imported your Contacts to Gmail..
Step 3: Add your Gmail ID in your Android Mobile (Samsung, Sony, HTC etc..):
- Take your Mobile phone.
- Go to Settings and then tap on Add Account.
- Add your Gmail Account in which you have imported your Contacts and then tap non Sync.
- Once the contacts are synced, you should be able to find the Contacts in your Phone.
I hope the above steps or the Video have helped you in resolving your Contacts issue.
